Dongpu trailhead is located at the 143.5 K spot of New Central Cross-island Highway, Provincial Highway 21, and the elevation is at about 2,782 meters. The top after climbing the 800-meter trail offers a rewarding view. To the east, there are Luanda Mountain, Junda Mountain, and the main peak and northern Peak of Mt. Jade. To the west, there is the Alishan mountain range. It is the best lookout point of the Tataka area.

◎The trail may only be 800 meters, but the drop is 300 meters. Please assess your own physical conditions to see if you want to climb to the top.
