Sitting next to Dongpu 1st Neighborhood, Dongpu Hot Spring is a weak alkaline carbonated spring with a temperature of about 45°C. The Bunun people call it lausan, which means hot.
Due to the development of hot spring, Dongpu hot spring area has become a tourist attraction in Nantou County. It is close to the border of the national park and offers hotel accommodation and catering services. It is one of the spots for an overnight stay along New Central Cross-island Highway, Provincial Highway 21.
