Upper Dongpu Parking Lot is located at the 107.7 K spot of New Central Cross-Island Highway, Provincial Highway 18. It has parking spaces available for tour buses and passenger cars. There are also public toilets for both men and women. It is the main entrance to go climbing Yushan and the starting point of the Nanxi forest trail. Standing in the parking lot looking to the west, the Alishan mountain range within sight. Visitors also have the opportunity to appreciate the sea of clouds and afterglows in the evening.

◎Nanxi forest trail is a restricted trail and no vehicle is allowed to enter.
◎Please park your vehicle in the space designated for your vehicle type and do not occupy extra space.
◎The 107.4 K and 107.5 K spots on Provincial Highway 18 have stone tables and chairs and are the designated cooking areas.
◎Please do not cook outside the designated area as it violates the law.
◎Dongpu Lodge is located downhill and provides bed accommodation for mountain climbers.
