Lulin Lodge was built in 1934. It is an important post for an overnight stay before climbing Yushan back in the day. Mountain climbers would walk for a day from New High trailhead and spend a night here before departing for Yushan the next day. It could accommodate about 100 people. As time passed, the lodge became a run-down place. The Administrative Office of Yushan National Park renovated the lodge in 1986 and restored its original look.
