Lulin Qianshan

Lulin Qianshan has an elevation of 2,862 meters offering a wide view of the surrounding area. Lulin Observatory of National Central University is also at the mountain top. It is for academic research only and not open to visitors. The ridge extending from Lulin Qianshan is the junction of Nantou County and Chiayi County. There are two address plaques at the observatory, one for Alishan Township of Chiayi County and the other for Xinyi Township of Nantou County.

Lulin Observatory

Lulin Observatory was established by the Graduate Institute of Astronomy of National Central University in 1999. It is an optical observatory focusing on academic teaching and research. At an elevation of 2,862 meters, it offers a wide view of the surrounding area without light pollution and excellent observation conditions. The unique appearance of the observatory makes it a landmark in the Tataka area. It is currently for academic research only and not open to the general public.
