It is at an elevation of 2,854 meters. It offers an extended view overlooking Alishan Mountain, Tataka Visitor Center, Dongpu Mountain, Shalixian Creek Valley, Dongpu tribal settlement, Jade Mountain, Lulin Mountain, and Lulin Qianshan (Lulin Observatory).

The migration of Chinese sparrowhawks and Grey-faced buzzards can be seen in the area from mid-September to mid-October.
