In the eastern part of Yushan National Park, the natural vegetation of the park accompanied with the elevation changes of the subtropical, temperate and boreal forest covers more than half of Taiwan's native plants, and gave birth to a rich wildlife. In the historical monuments regard, during the Qing dynasty and Japanese occupation period, Batung Guan Road near the Southern Cross-Island Highway stepped by our ancestors has all been the traditional life areas of Bunun tribe retaining many of the old social sites and spreading ancient anti-Japanese deeds. Yushan National Park is abundant by rich and varied humanistic and ecological resources with natural scenery and climate changing seasons. With highly functional sightseeing recreation, academic research and environmental education, in recent years, it upholds mission of the protection of national unique natural landscape, wildlife and historical sites.

Recently, by conducting national ecology and conservation research, Yushan National Park also provides leisure recreation purposes and actively promotes eco-environmental education which strengthens advocacy and promotion of tourism recreation quality. However, the traditional ways of farming of the farmers in Nan-an tribe located in the entrance of the park have contradicted to the spirit mentioned above. They have used chemical fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides extensively.

The Yushan National Park Headquarters (called the Yushan Management Office) has outsourced the project of restructuring-and-training extension service program by counseling Nan-an district farmers transforming into organic farming to TseXin Organic Agriculture Foundation (referred to as TOAF) in 2014. This plan constructed in four dimensions is combined with private companies adopt mechanisms, introducing agricultural authorities to guide the tribe organic farming techniques, integrating marketing package to the farm, and counseling and training to force Nan-an tribal farmers to organic farming methods through companionship. Until 2015, with two-year coaching and company, 10 farmers with their rice fields close to 12 hectares have been used for organic cultivation under the ongoing efforts of the plan. The process of organic certification has been conducted.

Currently, there are only one third of the region turning for organic farming and friendly cultivating. It has not yet established a complete cluster of collecting reaps. Therefore, there is still room for the construction of organic rice industry by future development. Actual conversion to organic farming, farmers get more stable income and security. Coupled with local community affirmation and support for organic production, the foundation of ecotourism and ecological community vision has been built by deep and sound thought to gain more and more confidence and recognition that organic farming is good for their own health, environment and community development, an the future development of organic agriculture in the local area. By this way, the goal of continual operation generation by generation is actually fulfilled. It is the goal that helps create clean acres of fertile land at the foot of the first.
