The concept of "national park" was first proposed by the United States in the early 19th centu-ry, and as times changed, the U.S. National Parks gradually transformed their mission to include science and research. The National Park Service (NPS) preserves the places and stories it finds and uses what it learns from science to manage local natural and cultural resources. Taiwan's National Park Act also specifies that national parks are for the protection of the nation's unique natural scen-ery, wildlife, and historical sites, and for the recreation and research of its citizens.
Therefore, this project will use the Yushan National Park Administration, which has more prac-tical experience, as a case study, and the Tataga area of Yushan National Park as a specific and sys-tematic base for developing research and education. Firstly, we will invite and recruit partner strate-gic alliance schools to hold educational peer training workshops so that teachers can improve their skills for the subsequent training. Afterwards, students were taken to Yushan National Park to con-duct two hands-on research activities with lesson plan modules provided by Yushan National Park. Through the cooperation with the strategic alliance, we can find out the model of cooperation with schools, so that we can have a fixed model for the future, so that the scientific research base of the National Park and the schools can work closely together and develop Taiwan's own model of scien-tific research base.
