Respect mountains

Mountain forests are the home of wild animals, so we have to abide by the principle of "Leave Mountain Forests Without a Trace.” The exhibition introduces precautionary measures to remind the public of environmental responsibilities, including preparation before trips, proper disposal of waste, protection of wildlife, no feeding or no harming, and other issues. Other mountain climbers also need to be respected. Comply with ethical rules in mountaineering, such as keeping noises low and not occupying bed space.

Prepare for mountains

Entering forests and mountains exposes people to a different type of environmental condition. Resources and water can be scarce. Being fully prepared before entering is a form of self-protection and being responsible to other people. This exhibition area uses graphics and AR interaction to show preparations for food, clothing, lodging, and traveling involved in mountaineering.

Safety on mountains

Mt. Jade Hiking Route are all located in high-elevation areas above 2,500 meters. The atmospheric pressure and the thinning of oxygen concentration can easily lead to altitude sickness and other complications. This exhibition area provides an overview of symptoms, characteristics, prevention, and treatment of altitude sickness, in hopes that the probability of altitude sickness for mountain climbers on the main peak line can be reduced. Besides having proper physical fitness and conditions, mountain climbers need to work in a team to understand responsive measures in the event of accidents to greatly reduce injuries and improve the chance of survival.

Medical care on mountains

The physiological conditions in high-elevation mountain areas can be very different from those on plains. This exhibition area introduces the responses of different parts of the body, such as the skin, heart and body muscles, to high-elevation environments or strenuous exercise, and provides recommendations on diet to improve the abovementioned abnormal physiological responses.
