Tataka Visitor Center is at an elevation of 2,610 meters, and it is at the intersection of Provincial Highway 18 and 21. The center offers outdoor guided tours within Tataka Recreation Area (reservation in advance required, and please go to the reservation link). The 1st floor of the center has an audio-visual experience room, service desk, and gift shop. The 2nd floor has a rich display of information on the ecology, topography, and geology of Yushan at intermediate and high elevation, the culture of Bunun and Tsou tribes, history of Yushan mountain, and others, and outsourced restaurant operations. Tataka Recreation Area is also an environmental education venue certified by the Environmental Protection Administration, providing the related services and courses (hyperlink to the activities at environmental education venues). Visitors can obtain comprehensive information on the nearby attractions, transportation, environmental education, and guided tours when they go to Tataka Recreation Area.

 "Island on the Sea of Clouds" and other Yushan-related promotional films, the videos start at 09:30, 10:30, 11:30, 13:00, 14:00, and 15:00. (For groups of more than 20 people, videos can be played for the groups every half an hour between 09:00 and 16:00)
