Nan-an Waterfall is located outside the Yushan National Park and under the jurisdiction of Hualien Forest Administrative Office of the Forestry Bureau, Executive Yuan, and is on the route which goes into the park. Nan-an Waterfall, next to Zhuo-an Bridge, can be accessed by driving about 2 kilometers, or 5 minutes, along Provincial Highway 30 from Nan-an Visitor Center heading west. The water of Nan-an Waterfall comes from the catchment between the ridges of Namu'an Mountain Dalixian Mountain. It comes straight down and forms a waterfall by Zhuo-an Bridge, before going into Laklak stream. Nan-an Waterfall is about 50 meters high, and there are two water ponds, one in the upper part and the other in the lower part. The surrounding environment is elegant and the whole landscape is beautiful. In summer, an abundant supply of water comes crashing down the fall. Standing not far by the fall, visitors can feel the mist in the air and the refreshing mountain breeze to take the heatwave away.
