The Paiyun Hiking Service Center and Tataka Visitor Center are both located in Tataka Anbu (Sinyi Township, Nantou County). The main activity of this hiking service center is to assist hikers wishing to climb Mt. Jade’s main peak, because an application must be submitted through the “Online application service for access into national parks in Taiwan” in advance. Before departure, mountain gear must be prepared together with an identification document. On the day of climbing, the hikers must report to the Paiyun Hiking Service Center first and then start with the hiking schedule.
In the Exhibition Room of Paiyun Hiking Service Center, relevant displays and explanation pamphlets are provided for mountain gear and hiking safety, so the public fond of hiking activity can receive hiking knowledge.
The Paiyun Lodge under Mt. Jade’s main peak approximately 8.5km away from Tataka Hiking Gate at an altitude of 3,400m is administered by the Paiyun Hiking Service Center. It provides the same function of serving hikers; it is also the place of accommodation, meals, basic medicine, and resting for hikers. Moreover, the square in front of Paiyun Lodge provides magnificent views of the ever-changing sea of clouds and sunset, which is indeed an eye-treat.
