History of Yushan National Park

There are certain conditions required to be a national park. According to the regulation under the “National Park Act” in Taiwan, a national park is only recognized with the presence of featured natural scenery, animal, plant, or historical remain. Under such a requirement, the Yushan National Park was officially established in 1985.

Since Yushan National Park is located in the central area of Taiwan’s main island, where many tall mountains exist, the Batongguan Historic Trail covers the walking tracks of our ancestors. There are rich ecologies of animals and plants throughout the entire national park, so a visit to the Yushan National Park for children is similar to entering a treasure vault; countless rewards are guaranteed.
