The Black Forest is between the halfway up Lulin Mountain and Linzhi Mountain. Measuring about 2.4 kilometers in distance, the trail is less crowded and quiet. The trail was the main path to climb Yushan during the Japanese colonial period. Yushan rhododendron can be seen blooming on both sides of the hillside in springtime. Visitors can observe them up close. It is also a great enjoyment to take a short break in the hemlock forest.

◎Dongpu Prairie, Linzhi Mountain, Black Forest, Lulin Mountain, and Lulin Qianshan are connected by Nanxi and Yushan forest trail, forming a network of trails.
