The three-year project aims to investigate the geology in the area of the Jade Mountain and to propose a model for the long-term evolution of the Mt. Jade based on the existing evidence of geological structures and landscape in the Yushan National Park. In addition to field geology investigation, UAV remote sensing was conducted in this year. Inferred from the sharply changed orientation of the outcrop in the north side of the West Peak, there is likely a structure in the upper strata of the Tachien-sandstone formation. Several reverse faults and recumbent folds were found in the lower unit of the Yushan-chushan formation between the Main Peak and the north side of the Paiyun Lodge. With the collected findings from this project, a short video and a guide book were produced for explaining the interesting rock formations, geologic structures and landscape in the area of Jade Mountain.
