  Overview

This trail was constructed during the Japanese colonial  Era.  The Japanese built the trail in order to better control the aboriginal tribes in the area and to improve communication and transportation between eastern and western Taiwan. This is a trail going east and west  within Yushan National Park. It begins from the Dongpu trailhead and links up to the Mount Shanfang trailhead, cutting across the Central Mountain Range. With a length of about 90km, it passes through Batongguan, Dashuiku, Dafen, Duomeili, Xinkang and Walami. It takes about 7 days to complete the entire journey.
